Hello. This is a small button tumor, but your vet should do a simple, painless aspirate to determine if this is concerning or not. If there are any questions as to if this is malignant or not, it would be best to have this removed while it is still quite small. Usually, removal of a tumor at this stage would be curative. Thank for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Hello, & thanks for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Small button lumps can be almost anything, from a benign cyst to a malignant tumor. I always encourage people to have any new lumps & bumps examined by your veterinarian as soon as possible, especially when they are on the legs. If this is something worrisome, then quick removal can be curative, especially since there is often not enough skin on the leg to remove something big, & close a wound safely. I hope the lump is benign, but your veterinarian can safely determine what this might be. Take care & all the best to Bubba.
