Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 10 months old | 10 lbs
My male cat has been starting to have spraying issues, specifically by the front door. He’s only started to do this until recently. He’s a really sweet boy, very calm, so I don’t understand why he does this. We live in a neighborhood with many feral cats but he’s an indoor cat, but I sometimes take him out with his harness. He’s had tapeworms and a UTI in the past but it was treated. We plan to get him neutered, but what can I do in the meantime to stop this?

Neutering will certainly help with the spraying. Since you do have feral cats in the area, consider a repellent around the property line. You can find one in the local hardware store or home improvement store. A pheromone product, such as Feliway spray or plug in diffuser, may also decrease his territorial behavior. Limit his view from windows if possible. Use an enzymatic cleaner, such as Nature's Miracle, to thoroughly clean soiled areas.
