My chihuahua ate corn on the cob. Is it an emergency for him?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) | Male | neutered | 4.5 lbs

My chihuahua ate small pieces of corn on the cob should I be worried ? He weighs about 4.5lbs and he’s 5years old

I would be concerned unless you're certain the pieces of corn cob he ate were the same size or smaller than a piece of his kibble. Corn cob is not digestible and can easily cause an obstruction. If he just ate the corn cob I'd recommend seeing an emergency vet - you can discuss x-rays or inducing vomiting to retrieve the corn cob.

    Hello, sorry to hear about Rocky. If he just ate the corn kernels then he does n need to vomit. Corn is not dangerous for pets. If he ate the cob without chewing it, then this is more concerning as it could lead to obstruction. If he did indeed eat more then the kernels and you are concerned he may have eaten enough to cause an obstruction then you should have him evaluated by a veterinarian soon so that they may induce vomiting.
