My spayed female dog humps our neutered male dog. Is this normal?

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired) | Female | spayed | 3 years and 7 months old | 12 lbs

My dog cookie keeps humping my other dog. She is spayed and the other dog is neutered. Please help.

Hello, sorry to hear about Cookie. If she is spayed, then I would be concerned that she may have a remnant ovarian tissue that needs to be completely removed. The remnant ovary may be continuing to produce sex hormones which is then causing her behavior. Alternatively, this could be a learned behavior that you will need to modify by deferring his behavior to doing something else. I would discuss with your primary care veterinarian about checking hormones via a blood sample to confirm that she does not have remnant ovarian tissue. Cookie may also need an abdominal ultrasound to check for this. Hope this helps and best of luck.
