How to stop my puppy from peeing everywhere after moving potty pads?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 14 days old | 22 lbs

We're working on moving the area for potty training closer to the back door to the backyard. Aside from moving the pee pee pads there, any other suggestions? Since we've moved them, he's peeing in more places areound the house that he hadn't in the past.

Try crate training Cisco. Here is a great link: https://www.petcoach.co/article/how-to-crate-train-your-dog/ Keep in mind, at this age he can only hold the urine about 4 hours. Each month it will increase by 1 hour. Remove the puppy pads unless absolutely needed as this only causes confusion (is it ok to go potty in the house?). Assuming the puppy will not potty in the crate, take him outside for 15 minutes. If your pup does not potty outside, CARRY your pup back inside and put him back in the crate for 30-45 minutes. Then CARRY your pup back outside for another 15 minutes. You will repeat this until he potties outside. Praise your puppy immensely and give him treats as soon as he potties. Then he can be free in the house. Using a leash and baby gates in the house will help to avoid him from having accidents. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.
