My dog has a painful, red, warm bump leaking fluid. What is it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | spayed | 10 years and 11 months old | 23 lbs

This bump popped up yesterday. It’s hard and red and warm. First pic was last night, second pic is today and it’s got little holes and leaking brownish blood fluid from them. She seems uncomfortable when it’s touched.

This looks like it could be an abscess or another kind of wound. I’d rechaving your vet examine it in person. They may want to take a sample using a small needle. If it is an abscess it may need to be lanced and antibiotics may be necessary.
