Why does my dog obsessively lick floors? Could it be medical?

My Terrier mix (12 yr) has a tendency to obsessive lick our laminate floors. Is there something we can do to stop this? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 15 lbs
