Why is my kitten limping on the wrong leg after a pelvis fracture?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | European Shorthair | Female | unspayed

On 13th 2am-3am i hear my kitten screaming from my front gate and and saw her flopping on the ground in pain. I rushed to pick her up and laided her on my lap making her calmed. I stayed awake all night because my kitten will immediately start flopping in pain again. Has brought her to the vet in the evening and the did an xray scan. The vet told me that my kitten left pelvis bone is fractured. But her is limping on her back right leg. The vet said the is nothing much can do to a kitten

In your x-ray I do see the broken pelvis and it looks like it is left sided based on the markers on the x-ray. I'm surprised that she would be putting weight on her left leg, but it's possible that she has another injury that wouldn't be apparent on the x-ray or that the x-ray was mislabeled if this is the case. I would recommend calling or rechecking with the vet - they might want to repeat an x-ray to see if things have changed and if there is something wrong on the other side of her pelvis and leg.
