What is this growing, bleeding lump on my dog? Does it need a vet?

I have a 6 year old oit bull...this started off as looking like a small blood blister and has grown into this...it doesnt seem to hurt her and her appetite has not decreased. Is there anything i could put on it to dry it out or give her pencillin shots? Or does she need medical attention for it. Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 6 years and 6 months old

Hello and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. This is a mass/ tumor that has broken open. It may be benign or cancerous and the only way to know which is to send it off for analysis. This growth should be surgically removed as it runs the risk of being a chronic source of infection since it has ruptured. Your veterinarian can send it off for analysis once it is removed.
