My dog pooped a small amount today. Is it normal if he's acting fine?

My dog Romeo pooped normal this morning. This afternoon he pooped a very small amount - normal in texture and consistency. It was not hard. Should I be conserved about it not being much stool or can that be normal? He’s eating good & playful. Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | neutered | 8 years and 8 months old | 12 lbs

I wouldn't be concerned at this point as it might just be normal, especially if he isn't straining to defecate and the stool appeared normal. Monitor him over the next couple days for diarrhea and/or straining and schedule an appointment with a vet if you notice anything abnormal.
