My dog has one testicle larger than the other. Could it be a tumor?

I have an 8 month beagle, he’s always had one ball a little bit bigger than the other. I went to the vet when he was 4 months and was told they might be a tumor because their was “tenderness” on the right side of his stomach and I might have to have him nutured. That was after he asked me if I was going to breed him. He looks fine and their isn’t any tenderness from what he stated. I feel like he just didn’t want me to breed him. He eats, poops and plays fine after 4 months. Should I be worried? Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 30 days old | 23 lbs

If his testicles are asymmetrical it may mean that something is wrong with one of them causing it to be larger or smaller than usual. It is also possible he could be cryptorchid if the smaller side is actually missing a testicle. For more clarity, you can have an ultrasound performed of his testicles and abdomen at a specialty hospital. Otherwise, neutering can help prevent the development of hernias, tumors, and unwanted behaviors.
