My cat's eye scratch isn't healing. When should I take him to the vet?

My cat seemed to have scratch his eye and it doesn’t seem to be getting better. I had bought an ointment from pet smart and it usually helps but not this time. Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 5 years and 10 months old | 10 lbs

If the ointment is not helping then he needs to be examined by your vet to determine the proper treatment. Your vet can do a thorough exam exam and some diagnostic testing ,if needed, to determine the cause of his problem and then prescribe the appropriate medications.
