Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 9 months and 5 days old | 7 lbs
Cat (M, 9mo) developed balding patches on his 2 hind legs. He does not appear to pay special attention to that area when cleaning himself. He has been scratching himself a bit more with his hind legs to his ears but nothing excessive. Spots developed over past month. His eating/drinking/bathroom habits are unchanged. Is this something to be concerned about or is it possibly just friction from when he plays on hardwood floors.

The areas I see do look like wear from pressure from sitting or lying down. As long as the skin looks healthy and he behaves normally, I would wait until his next routine visit to show them to your vet. If they do seem to bother him or if he starts feeling poorly, get him in to see your vet as soon as possible to determine if this is a sign of an underlying condition that needs to be treated.
