What's this swollen red sore on my dog's lip? Allergy or infection?

My dog developed what looks like a swollen red sore on his lip. It doesn’t seem to be painful or sensitive to the touch, but today he’s started scratching at it. It seemed to come out of nowhere and has been present for about 3 days. Is this an allergic reaction or something else? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 60 lbs

Yikes, that lip is really swollen! With swelling in one particular spot (rather than the whole face), an allergic reaction is unlikely. I’d be much more concerned about a possible infection or penetrating wound on the inside of the lip. I recommend having Kaiser seen by the vet, as he may need a course of antibiotics.
