My puppy ate red onion. Will he be okay? What symptoms to watch for?

My 5 month old puppy who weighs roughly 20 pounds ate 4-5 2 inch pieces of red onion. Will he be ok?

The amount he got is probably too small to cause any problems but be careful to keep these and any other harmful foods out of his reach in the future. Onion and garlic damages the red blood cells, causing anemia. If your dog starts to display any of the following symptoms, get him treated by your vet right away. Lethargy Weakness Decreased appetite Pale gums Fainting Reddish urine
