My dog sometimes poops blood but is otherwise normal. Is it serious?

my dog ​​is pooping with blood, but only sometimes. My dog ​​poops 2 times every time I take him for a walk and in the last week he has been doing the second time with blood. but not everyday. he is still very playful and eats normal. but I'm a little worried about the blood.

It's worth getting it checked out with your vet, in case he has picked up an intestinal parasite or has some irritation in his lower GI tract. That the blood is red means it's fresh, therefore being shed very low in the GI tract or his rectum or anus. It may be anal glands that are inflamed, there are a few possibilities. Your vet will do an exam, some labwork, and based on these results will be better able tot ell you what is going on and the best treatment options for your dog.
