Dog eye swelling and hair loss: Is it allergies or an insect bite?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 65 lbs

Not sure if my dog got bit by something or has allergies. She has some swelling and hair loss above her right eye. What do you recommend we do? We gave her some Benadryl and the swelling is slowly going down

Hello. The Benadryl was appropriate. If she will let you, you can put a cool compress over the eye to see if that brings the swelling down further. If the area surrounding the eye is still looking significantly swollen on Monday, than do have her examined for the possibility of an infection in the skin.
