My cats have sneezing and runny eyes. Is it allergies or infection?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Van | Male | neutered | 4 years and 11 months old | 18 lbs

We have 3 cats. One started sneezing A couple of weeks ago and his eyes are just a little runny. The 2nd one started sneezing a few days ago and his eyes are much more runny. Now the 3rd has started sneezing. We're in the North Dallas area and allergens have been high but should I be concerned that this is something more?

It could be allergies but it could also be a viral upper respiratory infection. If they are otherwise acting normal then you could monitor for a few days and see if it resolves. If the signs persist or worsen then they should be examined by a vet for treatment.
