Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1.5 lbs
Hello. My name is Kelsey. I just took in a male kitten, I’ve had several kittens before and I still have 3 others, but females. The person who found him said he was on the side of the road, and with no mother, he is very tiny and I realized his stomach was big, she did speak to me and tell me he had worms and she gave him half a dose of the medicine, and he has been pooping out big dead worms with blood but also he has been vomiting blood too. I don’t know what I should do.

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. First of all, you should separate the new kittens from your other cats as he may carry viral diseases or worms that can be dangerous to your cats. Presence of blood in stools and vomiting can be related to worms infestation but it also could be a sign of gastrointestinal infection. Please, offer Kai small portions of good quality food (kitten food or cooked lean meat) and plenty of water to drink. The worming medication should be repeated in 2 weeks time. However, if Kai continues to vomit and pass diarrhoea with blood, you should take him to your local vets for an appointment.
