My dog has pancreatitis. When can I reintroduce food and what kind?

Pet's info: Dog | Dalmatian | Male | neutered | 2 years and 7 months old | 60 lbs

My dog has pancreatitis diagnosed but local vet yesterday morning. He has fast for almost 48 hours and is super weak. He has major constipation and vomitted brown liquid last night. When can I reintroduce food to him and what kind?

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. You can introduce low fat food now. Small portion of cooked chicken or other lean meat will be the best option. However, if Beaux continues to to vomit and being weak and lethargic, you should take him back to your local vets as he may need more aggressive treatment with intravenous fluids, intravenous painkillers and anti-sickness medications.
