My cat ate a chicken bone. Is it a problem? What symptoms to watch for?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

My cat ate a chicken bone yesterday. Im worried since many people mention that it is bad. Something to keep in mind is that for the longets time my family has been feeding our dogs and cats left overs from cookouts etc including chicken with the bones. Is it still a worrying matter?

I'd monitor your cat very closely for vomiting, diarrhea, inappetence, abdominal pain, or lethargy. If any of these signs occur, your cat should see a veterinarian ASAP. Bones can be damaging to the stomach or intestines if they do not break down well.
