My dog has liver nodules, high enzymes. Is it cancer? Ovarian cyst?

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 9 years and 1 month old | 95 lbs

Dahlia’s liver enzymes up again. They found nodules on ultrasound. Is that cancer. Can they be removed. A cyst on ovary. She needs to get spayed.

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. A nodule on the liver is usually a tumour, a cysts or an abscess. Elevated liver enzymes and abnormal liver appearance does suggest a tumour. However, it is impossible to say if it is benign of malignant without taking a sample of the nodule for analysis. Ovarian cysts are very common in unspayed dogs at Dahlia's age. It usually does not pose any immediate danger for the dog, but yes, you should get her spayed.
