Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Female | unspayed | 12 years and 6 months old | 10 lbs
My 12-year-old Maltese has had diarrhea for almost 24 hours. No change in food, she gets 1/3 cup of Royal Canin Adult dry food for Maltese per day. She weighs 10 pounds, and she does drink water often. She may have eaten something weird outside or gotten a human scrap from a kid that I was unaware of. The vet being the last resort right now, what could I try doing/giving her that I could order from Petco prescriptions with vet approval?

Poor girl. I would try switching her to a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice for a few days to see if the diarrhea clears up. You can also order a probiotic and add it to her food to help settle her tummy. Medications are not indicated for only 24 hours of diarrhea, but if it progresses or she starts having frank bloody diarrhea, she needs to be seen by a vet right away.
