My corn snake keeps regurgitating food. Should I be worried?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I’ve had my corn snake for a month, he was 9 weeks when in got him. The first few feeds were fine and then 3 weeks ago he threw up the mouse a day after eating it. He was fine after and I handled him he seemed normal. 3 days ago I fed him and this morning I found the thrown up mouse in his water dish. This is the second time now and I am concerned because he isn’t showing other symptoms besides a dulling in his scale color. He eats fine, breathes normally

There is a parasite called Cryptosporidium that can cause chronic regurgitation as it causes a thickening of the stomach. So, it could be that. It could be that the prey you are feeding are too large and that is why he is regurgitating. It could be from too much handling after eating. I suggest you get him to a reptile vet for an exam.
