My vaccinated dog ate poop. Should I worry about parvo or worms?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 3 months old | 6 lbs

i have a 15 month beagle that just ate poop on their walk and im worried about her being exposed to parvo. she had all three shots parvo shots as a puppy and her one year booster in april this year, what are the chances of her getting it and how many days is the incubation period that i need to watch her closely for, after how many days is she safe if she doesnt show symptoms, can i have her tested for parvo before she shows symptoms, im very scared of her getting parvo

You don't need to worry about her catching parvo. The vaccine is very effective and she has been properly vaccinated. I would be more worried about her getting roundworms or hookworms from eating poop. I would suggest having her dewormed as a preventive measure. Please don't worry about her catching parvo.
