My dog has a stomach bump not bothering her. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 8 months old | 46 lbs

My dog has a bump on her stomach and I’m not sure if I should be worried. I shaved the hair off around it so I was able to see it better. It is not bothering her at all, but I want to make sure everything is okay.

This looks like either a puncture wound or an insect bite, i would recommend monitoring it for the next 2-3 weeks, if you think it does not get any better you should take her to the vet in order to get it checked and treated.

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. Judging from the pictures you have provided, I suspect that this is likely a bite of some sort from an insect. I would keep an eye on this and if it does not resolve or it worsens, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
