My dog periodically skips morning meals for a few days. Is this normal?

Is it Normal for Norik not to eat somedays in the morning. It happens every 2/3 weeks for a couple days and then he is back to normal again. Usually he eats twice a day. Thank you!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! As long as Norik is not vomiting, having diarrhea and isn't too thin or losing weight it is okay that he does this. It probably isn't "normal" but tolerable. Norik probably has underlying intestinal inflammation due to food allergies or inflammatory bowel disease. You can try a food that is for sensitive stomachs or a novel protein (no chicken) and see if that improves his morning appetite. Also breaking up his evening meal: half at the normal time and the other half right before bed may help with any acid reflux from an empty stomach. I also fine, with my own dog, that adding water makes it more appealing. I wish Norik the best!
