Pet's info: Dog | Brussels Griffon | Male | unneutered | 14 years and 4 months old | 12 lbs
I have a brussel Griffon 14 yrs old. Yesterday my mom gave him cooked chicken from store but today he is been vomiting like 3-4 times and with diarrhea. I saw little blood in the feces. Im not sure if I should get him to the VET or is something temporary because of the chicken. He is responsive and alert. Should I give him food or leave him without food for 24 hours? Any advice? Thanks

I would withhold food and water for 4-6 hours after the last time he vomited. You can try plain rice or a small amount of water or ice to see if he is interested. If the vomiting persist and the blood progresses I would not wait to take him in. Anytime there is blood in the stool, it is recommended to see a vet. In older, smaller patients, this can lead to dehydration and extreme weakness if it gets worse.
