Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Van | Female | spayed | 5 years and 8 months old | 7.05 lbs

My cat is 5 years old and not as active as she usually is. She seems down and glum. She seems to be in pain when she walks and acquires just one crouched position when she sits. The abdomen area seems to be slightly hard. Her food intake has reduced while her water intake in normal. Today is the 6th day and now she seems to be weak and hates being picked up. Please help me

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. I am concerned that it has been going on this long. I am concerned she may have something going on in her abdomen such as a foreign object stuck in her intestines, a systemic infection or disease. I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Abdominal x-rays and blood testing should be considered to help figure out what is going on. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
