My dog has a small, unchanging bump near her nipple. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | 13 years and 7 months old | 10 lbs

Recently I have noticed a small bump near my female Chihuahuas nipple. I have pushed on it and squeezed it which neither seem to bother her. And it does not seem to have growth underneath the skin. It has not changed in size over the past few months. Should I be concerned?

If it has not changed size and/or shape, it is likely just a harmless mass. Be sure to keep monitoring the growth for change. Do not squeeze it. If it starts growing or changing shape you need to have it examined by your veterinarian.
