Why is my dog suddenly lethargic, sleeping all day, and not drinking?

My dog is a jackrussle mixed with chihuahua. She is 9 yrs. old. This morning she woke up looking a little down, doesn’t want to drink water, and has been sleeping all day. I don’t know what to do. I feel so helpless. I’ve never seen her like this before. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 9 years and 6 months old

It’s difficult to know with only vague symptoms. I recommend a veterinary exam. They will check her back for pain, feel her abdomen for discomfort and they may want to check a blood panel to make sure she’s not dehydrated or has an infection. Monitor her closely to make sure she’s urinating, and defecating, and for any vomiting. Feel her all over to check for pain. Then you can give your veterinarian more info about her symptoms.
