Best dog food for multiple dogs with varying ages: adult or senior?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed

I have 3 small breed dogs one is 1.5 years, one is 4 years and one is 10 years. I have to feed them together so they must eat the same food. Should I give them normal adult dog food or should I give them senior dog food? Which is the best, as there ages are so diffrent?

Senior food tends to have less calories and maybe some other ingredients to help with arthritis, but is adequate for adults. If your dogs are overweight, then I'd advise feeding the senior food. If they are all lean, then it would be fine to feed them all the adult food. There is not really a big difference, so that is the only consideration I have for determining the best formula to feed. I hope that helps and all is well with your dogs.
