Pet's info: Dog | Chow Chow | Male | unneutered | 11 months and 16 days old | 44 lbs
I wanna see about neutering Heisenberg. But im facing a delima of doing it or not. Some are for and the rests are against and claim not having any problem with their boy and his health condition. He’s now sometimes showing his lipstick and even having orgasms. I dont want to be selfish as a human if its only for my sake mot his. Is it really better for him to be neutered?? and help me with the proper age if u recommend it, some told me about being above 10-12months

I recommend neutering all male dogs. It reduces the incidence of prostatic cancer, testicular cancer and venereal cancer. Usually it will improve the roaming, fighting and sexual behavior you are seeing. I think neutered dogs tend to be better human companions since they are more focused on their owners instead of being hormone driven. Since you have a larger breed dog it’s best to neuter them when they are mostly full grown. That varies by breed but I’d have him neutered between twelve and sixteen months. If his behavior worsens then I have it done regardless of age. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Heisenberg.

Great question! I do highly recommend getting Heisenberg neutered. It is absolutely true that health problems develop when dogs aren't neutered, such as prostate cancer, and just because it didn't happen to one person's dog doesn't mean it can't happen to him. It really is best for his health, and I agree that neutering him between 10 and 12 months of age is a good idea. I strongly recommend making an appointment with his vet to have him neutered. I hope this helps!
