Puppy exposed to parvo, vomiting after vaccine. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 21 days old | 10 lbs

Sunday morning one of my puppies passed away with Parvovirus. Her sister, Lilo, was with her 75% of the time although we tried to keep them apart once we know what Nani had. Lilo had previously been sick a week before Nani but it only lasted 24 hours. We got her vaccinated for parvo, influenza, and rabies Tuesday night. Last night she started throwing up again but is still eating and drinking. Should I be worried or could it be from the vaccine?

It is unlikely from the vaccine, but I am hopeful that she has a stronger immune system then your other puppy. I don’t think you are out of the woods for at least another 2 weeks. If the vomiting continues today or if she breaks with diarrhea then she should be seen immediately. I am so sorry you are going through this, and I hope she is a strong pup who does well! Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
