My dog has diarrhea for days, and vet treatment made it worse.

Hello, my dog has had diarrhea for the past 5-6 days , he keeps licking/biting at his bum , he keeps crouching over , he has no energy , his poo is soft and dark ( sometimes liquid )and we have tried to stop him eating for a few hours , the vet prescribed some food and paste but it’s making it worse , is there anything that could help him ? Pet's info: Dog | Border Collie | Male | neutered | 23 lbs

I recommend to call your vet again. When pet's don't respond to treatment as expected, it can mean that the real problem has not been discovered. Ollie may need different medications or possibly diagnostics to make sure something bad like an intestinal foreign body is causing the diarrhea. Your vet may also test for parasites if this has not been done. Continue giving him the special food and medications.
