My parakeet's beak is split from an attack. What should I do?

Hi my female parakeet has attacked my other parakeet and has split his beak in half and a hole on both side of beak at the top like cracking a nut he in a bad way what the chances of him surviving he has been drinking and eating soft food like bread and warm milk what else can I do to help him many thanks

My goodness, poor guy. So sorry to hear this happened. That looks really painful. I cannot give you any information about his chances of surviving. You would need to get him examined by a vet in person to get any information like that. We cannot tell much just by looking at a photo. It is good that he is eating and drinking and you are doing the correct thing my giving him soft foods but milk is not a good idea; they don't need it and most parakeets are actually lactose intolerant. Softening bird pellets and feeding soft human foods is OK . You can also use a critical care diet like the one in the link below. I assume you also separated the birds?? If not, you need to do that. My best recommendation is to have him evaluated by a vet to get an idea of prognosis and to get him some pain medications. ( https://lafeber.com/vet/lafeber-products/emeraid-omnivore-2k/ )
