combat roach traps contain roach poison which is not very toxic to dogs. Usually ingesting the container is more dangerous than the roach poison. However COMBAT suggests calling them in case your dog has ingested some of the poison: "If you’re concerned that your pet may have ingested a small amount of roach bait, Combat can help. In the event that a household pet ingested roach bait, please contact the Combat Information Helpline at 1-800-426-6228 or contact your personal veterinarian." It is likely that the roach poison causes mild stomach irritation at most. Since the bait station was not ate by your dog, there is no worry about intestinal obstruction.

It would take a lot of roach poison to really cause harm to a dog. The bigger problem is the container. If your dog ate the roach hotel as well then there is a danger of a foreign body obstruction of the intestine. This is from the Combat Roach bait website: "If you’re concerned that your pet may have ingested a small amount of roach bait, Combat can help. In the event that a household pet ingested roach bait, please contact the Combat Information Helpline at 1-800-426-6228 or contact your personal veterinarian".

The amount of roach bait itself is not enough to cause serious toxicity in dogs. If Oliver swallowed the housing, that could be more dangerous than the bait itself. Have him seen by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER if he swallow the trap. If all he did was chew it up, monitor for vomiting or diarrhea. Typically, these can be managed at home with a short fast followed by a bland diet fed in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve then transition slowly to the regular diet.
