Why is my puppy's eye suddenly swollen and he's acting so sleepy?

Mickeys eye is swollen and he seems sleepier than usual. Appetite is fine and he's eating okay. He had diarrhea yesterday but today his stools were fine. His eye was fine yesterday, however. He isn't pawing at the eye or scratching it but he squints with that one eye every now and then and its very noticeably swollen at some times. Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest but he keeps wanting to sleep so I'm letting him rest. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 5 months and 10 days old | 43 lbs

This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, uveitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. I highly recommend that you have Mickey evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further therapy would be based on the findings. Good luck and best wishes!
