My dog scratched his nose deeply, but isn't bothered. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 7 months and 27 days old | 30.7 lbs

Benson stratched his nose (picture attached) and it seems deep. It’s not bleeding or anything, and he’s not phased by it at all. Do you I need to be worried?

Aww, poor Benson! I don't think you need to be worried. Wash the scratch with warm water and antiseptic soap. Keep the wound clean and dry, and monitor it for signs of infection. If you see redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, or pus, then it is infected and he will need to see the vet for antibiotics to treat it.
