My cat has a strange bump in her mouth. Is it normal or serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 7 lbs

So my cat has this weird thing in her mouth. I've never owned a cat before and I'm worried this is bad. Her face doesn't look swollen though so... She's almost a year old and I know we need to get her last round of shots still but we had to move recently and I don't start my new job till next week. I'm worried. Also the things size sometimes looks bigger but that may be my imagination

That looks normal to me. I would not be overly worried about it. It is where the upper canine tooth makes contact with the lower gums. Just keep an eye on it for now. If you are worried you can take her to the vet for a check-up when you can afford it.
