Pet's info: Dog | West Highland White Terrier | Male | neutered | 4 years and 10 months old | 14 lbs
Cooper was neutered last Wednesday and so far experienced no complications to my knowledge, but it does not look normal to me. It appears swollen or lumpy instead of flush with his belly. He has no pain or discomfort when I examine the area, but I'd like to be sure. He is scheduled to have them removed tomorrow. Does this look like he's healing properly? Thank you!

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Cooper. I see he had staples put in instead of stitches, which may be contributing to the bumpiness. Typically yes, it is a smooth incision, but I don't see any signs of infection. It appears to be healing from the pictures, and it may smooth out when the staples are removed. I hope this helps!
