Cat takes long to pee after urine blockage surgery, is it normal?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 2 years and 2 months old | 13 lbs

so my cat is recovering from a urine blockage procedure, i was wondering after this happens is it normal for a cat to take 5-10mins to pee. its about 36 hours after.

Poor Odin. Urinary blockage effects a cat's entire system and can make them feel very poorly. When the catheter is removed there is usually a fair bit of inflammation due to the catheter having been in place. This may be why he takes a bit to urinate now. The fact that he is producing urine is a good sign. You want to see him continue and start to produce more and more. If he appears to get duller or stop urinating take him back to the vet.
