My cat has a lump after vet removed a tick. Is this normal?

My cat had a tick removed by the vet and now there is a lump almost as big as the tick was. Is this normal

Hi, and thanks for your question. Even though a picture would help to understand better the underlying cause, this presentation could be due to a localized spot of skin infection due to the presence of the tick. Another check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem.
