Why is my cat's paw inflamed, bleeding, and getting worse?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 4 days old

My 1 year-old cat has a inflamed and sore paw (right foot). There is a bit of blood. This has been going on for a few months and at first it was healing, but suddenly I’ve noticed it has gotten more red, inflamed and now has a scratch with blood.

This appears to be an infected wound. The foot also looks swollen. I suggest you have her examined by your vet as soon as possible. She probably needs some antibiotics for this to clear up. I am very worried that this has been going on so long.....
