My daughter bought a hamster from Petco 3 months ago. She called me last night because she saw something on his cheek. She picked him up and noticed something sticking out . She pulled it out and it was a piece of his food. He now has a hole on the side of his cheek. I’ve been googling this and haven’t found anything. He is still acting normal. Eating, drinking and playin

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This may be due to an infection for example. It may be that a part of the food got through the skin and it is now infected. I recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to evaluate this further and decide what would be best in terms of therapy. Best of luck!
