Should I worry if my cat eats roaches sprayed with insecticide?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2 years and 2 months old | 10 lbs

I had my bushes treated for fungus and in the process roaches that were living in the bushes were also sprayed. A few minutes after I found dead roaches everywhere and some had escaped into my home. I have two indoor only adult cats, should I be worried for their health if they ingest these roaches?

It may not be good for them if they ingest the roaches depending on the poison used. Keep an eye on your cats, and if you see vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, lethargy, muscle twitches, excessive drooling, or seizures, have them seen by a vet immediately.
