My kitten has bloody diarrhea but acts fine. Should I be worried?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 4 months old

Well, i already changed the litter box, but my kitten (13 weeks) has light brown diarrhea with tiny spots of blood in it. I'm not sure if it is just her period or what but I'm wondering, should I be worried? She acts fine other than this and I really don't have the money to go to a vet right now.

Aura is too young to go into heat right now. Blood in diarrhea in a kitten is most often caused by intestinal parasites. You can try an OTC cat dewormer sold at a pet store, but if it doesn't resolve in a day or two, she should get checked out by the vet. There are other intestinal parasites that aren't worms that could cause bloody diarrhea.
