My puppy has a small bump near her nipple. What should I do next?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 25 days old | 36.4 lbs

My 17 week old female Shepherd puppy has a pea sized bump by her left rear nipple? I’m very hands on with her and just saw it today. she is very active and eats well. What should I be looking for?

Hello. For now, just monitor the area. Cancer is very rare in the very young, but it can happen. The good thing is that you found this very early. I would have your veterinarian look at this at your next scheduled visit ( this is not an emergency ). She may aspirate a few cells to look for any abnormalities, or just decide to monitor things as well. So at this point, just keep a good eye on things.
