Her incision looks fine. A bit of redness is normal. Monitor for swelling, discharge, bleeding, odor or lethargy. These are symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian. Use an e-collar(cone) to prevent her form licking the site until the sutures are removed.

Thank you for your question. The photos that are side views are of a poorer quality and on our end are a bit difficult to interpret/are blurry looking. The photo looking down on her belly looks good. Signs of infection include increased swelling, spreading redness, discharge from the incision site, gaping of the incision site. If these occur, contact your veterinarian for examination.

From the pictures her incision looks good. However a physical exam would be needed to be sure there is no infection. Things to watch for: redness or discharge from the incision, gaping or opening of the incision, if Ava is constantly licking the incision, if she stops eating or acts sick, swelling at the incision site. If you notice any of that, please have Ava rechecked by her veterinarian.

Hello. The incision looks like it might have become infected. The area around the incision is red and it appears that there is a small amount of a sticky discharge . I would recommend that you have the veterinarian recheck the incision to see if she may need some antibiotics. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach
