My puppy vomited. Could she be dehydrated? What are my next steps?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

My 3month old puppy vomit twice, I gave her water after 4hrs she vomitted. Then another 4hrs for pedialyte that serves as her water already. After 4hrs, she didn't vomit again. I did the fasting, no eating for 12hrs, just water. She ate a small portion of what I gave after 12hrs. She's active already but not yet totally active. By the way, I think she's dehydrated and had wet poop once. What can you say about her condition? What do you think we should do?

If the vomiting and any other symptoms have stopped and she seems back to normal, you can start to feed Pepper more of her regular food again. A few bland meals of boiled chicken and rice may also help. If you suspect she's severely dehydrated, her symptoms continue, or she refuses to eat or drink, seeking veterinary care in person ASAP is best.
